I have a Mac Ibook OS X 10.2 and I have downloaded Soundflowerbed. When I open it, it shows the 'read me' file and the Soundflowerbed icon. There is no option to install it. When I open SFB, the MIDI controls open but it says 'Soundflower is not installed!' I hope this problem can be fixed because I would like to use this program for my Podcast. Then hit the button with the gear icon bottom left and select 'use this device for sound output' (you should still be hearing your iTunes output - it is now going to both Soundflower and the built-in speakers) Then In Quicktime: create a new audio recording in the popup menu next to record button select 'Soundflower (2ch)' as the input. It is the upgraded version of the previous operating system OS X Yosemite.

1. Download Soundflower and run the installation process

6. Back in Spreaker Studio for Desktop, in the Microphone & Sources area, below your microphone selected in the first source, choose Soundflower (2ch) or BlackHole (Core Audio) in another free source. (You can have up to four sources on Spreaker Studio!).
Then, make sure to click on 'monitor' in order to be able to hear the Google Meet call through your headphones.
A quick explanation: In the Monitor and Mute section, enable monitor in order to be able to hear audio from a particular source through your headphones or speakers. Enable mute so that a particular source will be muted to your audience.
In other words, the monitor button controls what you hear, whereas the mute button controls what your audience hears.

- Marvin Webster•a few seconds agoIt gets the job done, but after the job is done your internal speakers will no longer work nor will your internal microphone. You must change your settings back to normal. It took me a long time to figure this out. A real pain in the butt application, but it works.

- S. McCandlish•a few seconds agoThis was good in its day (like around 2014), but hasn't worked properly for years in newer versions of macOS. The modern and much more capable replacement is Loopback. (Some other software can do some of the same things, including Boom2, Movavi Sound Grabber, and various other utilities for grabbing streaming audio and video, but most of them really are intended just for that, e.g. recording Spotify streams.) I prefer Loopback, because it's a configurable virtual sound device, and can even be set up on an app-by-app basis (e.g., you can set it to record some long TED talk or whatever on YouTube in Chrome without echoing the audio to your physical output device, then go watch a movie in VLC without the audio from that interfering with your TED recording). Because the OS sees it as a device, it can be set in one for other purposes, such as screen-recording software like Voila. You can thus use such a combo to rip any online video even if you can't find a downloading app or browser extension that supports the site in question. (The only downside is you have to let the whole thing play from start to finish while you grab it. So, go make dinner or something.)I'll give this three stars, since it's still usable on old versions of Mac OS X. However, various newer, better programs are also.

Combined with AU Lab, I was able to easily equalize my Klipsch 2.1 desktop speakers that came out of the box so boomy as to be unusable. Now, they sound amazing.. all with 2 free, light pieces of software that take a little work setting up and then.. it's all good. I just have an AU Lab saved settings icon on my desktop that I click after a reboot and I have fantastic sound.
